Martin W. King
Club Adviser
Martin King is a professor at the College of Textiles and expert in biotextiles, biomaterials and medical textiles. He has more than 30 years experience working in regulations, business, and education. He has also worked with his graduate students to carry out extensive research projects on implantable devices as well as published many literature in the field of biotextiles. Learn more here!
Ashley C. Brown
Club Adviser
Dr. Brown is an Assistant Professor in the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel-Hill and director of the Advanced Wound Healing Lab. Her lab focuses on the development of novel soft material strategies that interact with the body’s native healing mechanisms to develop therapeutics to enhance tissue repair. She received her B.S. in Bioystems Engineering from Clemson University and her PhD in Bioengineering from Georgia Tech. She then performed postdoctoral training at Georgia Tech in the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry and the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Dr. Brown has been a member of the National Society for Biomaterials chapter since 2008. She is currently Secretary of the Engineering Cells and their Microenviroments (ECTM) Special Interest Group (SIG). Learn more about Dr. Brown’s lab here!

Suh Hee is a 4th-year PhD candidate whose research in Wilson College of Textiles explores in vitro platforms to mature induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes for cardiac tissue engineering.
Grant Scull
Vice President
Grant is a 4th-year PhD student in Biomedical Engineering at NC State University. His research is focused on utilizing nanoparticle technology for treating ailments of the tibiofemoral joint such as S. aureus infections and ACL tears.
Ana Sheridan
Secretary
Ana is 2nd-year PhD student in the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at NC State University. Her research focuses on developing fibrin-targeted therapies to treat thrombotic complications.
Ziyu Wang
Treasurer
Ziyu is a 3rd-year PhD student in Wilson College of Textiles. Her research is focused on antibacterial hernia mesh to prevent late infection.
